Background
東森現代韓媒股份有限公司(EHK Entertainment and Shopping) is a short-lived joint venture company established in Korea and Taiwan by KBS media, Hyundai Homeshopping, and Eastern Media group.
The purpose of the company is to operate a media commerce system based on a TV channel, which could fully utilize the following adavantages of each shareholder.
- KBS media to provide TV programs and professionals for establishing and operating a TV channel in Taiwan;
- Hyundai Homeshopping to deliver Korean products to Taiwan;
- Eastern Media group to provide necessary infrastructure and services necessary to conduct the business in Taiwan

Behind-the-scenes story
It took more than a year to just close the agreement among the shareholders as there was a huge gap between KBS and thg other two shareholdes.
Moreover, National Communications Commission of Taiwan rejected the application for a TV Channel license. It made KBS withdraw the partnership, resulting in the liquidation of the joint venture in just two years.
